Sundown is another small suburban Connecticut ski area. It lacks much terrain for the absolute novice, but is great for a progressing intermediate. It's steeper than competing Mohawk, has a more open feel for better or worse.

    Trail Recommendations

    • Beginner

The Sunside Express triple serves a tiny beginner pod. Advanced beginners can venture over to Tom's Treat or Panhandle to Papoose. Don't worry about the runout of Canyon Run as it isn't bad.

    • Intermediate

Canyon Run and Nor'Easter are intermediate level. Even Temptor is still solidly intermediate for most.

    • Advanced

Gunbarrel is a lower advanced run. Satan's Stairway under the lift has some good pitch, but is not an expert run despite its trail rating.

    • Tree Skiing / Glades

    Two triples service the top.
