
Introduction
West Mountain is a ski area between Saratoga and Lake George that is popular with the racing and family crowds. Nearly all of the terrain is beginner and intermediate friendly. Recently new management has been investing in modernizing the ski area including the installation of a new high speed lift, new snow guns, and new lighting.
Base Areas and Parking
Trail Recommendations
- Beginner
Holy Mackerel, Frolic, and Midway are the main beginner areas.
- Intermediate
Mach and Alley to Bannister are the two main cruisers down the center.
Shoot Brandt Pass if the snow is deep enough.
- Advanced
A.O.A. And it's not that hard. And it's closed at night. Rarely open except after big storms.
The Cure - A steep that was opened up wide in 2017. Heavy snow making for race course use.
Use the Mountain Biking Map to find some tight tree runs.

No immediate restaurants outside the mountain, but good eating and beer in downtown Glens Falls.

Annual Special Events
There is an annual fall festival during the first two weekends of October.
Fire on the Mountain every mid-February.
