  1. We passed on Cannon this weekend because of the wind on Saturday, but also because we assumed it would be an ice rink after the thaw/rain/freeze. We headed to BW with low expectations because it had been such a rough week, but we were very pleasantly surprised! Granted, I have young kids, and the 5-year-old loves BW because he can feel like a rockstar there, but we skied all weekend and never saw boilerplate. By the end of the day there were some icy spots, but you could just ski over them. On Saturday the lifts were running slow, but they were all running and surprisingly, the lift lines we
  2. For a limited time, purchase early season tickets for just $22 and save up to $71.* Tickets VALID ANY ONE DAY from opening day of the 2018-19 season through December 14, 2018.* But this offer won't last - learn more and buy today!
  3. Took a ride up to Bretton Woods on Sunday with @MadRussian and a quiver of skis. Conditions were pretty frozen in the morning, but some decently soft corn in the afternoon. He brought 4 pairs of skis for us to put through the paces on the hill. We started with the two narrower offerings he brought where the snow was pretty stiff in the morning. We skied the MR87 and the MR95 for a few hours in the morning. The MR95 was probably my favorite ski of the day. Super stiff, held an edge on anything, super responsive. The Porsche of the MR collection (They like to go FAST). Intere
  4. Time for a Bretton Woods thread for the season. I went last week on Friday Nov. 10 for opening day. Conditions on the lower third of Range View were quite thin. Tomorrow they reopen for the weekend. They have the learning center plus Range View and that's all. I am surprised that is all they have managed to open so far. I expected them to have at least Big Ben in the mix.
  5. Hat tip to @xwhaler for pointing this out. Bretton Woods is planning to build a new gondola and summit lodge.
  6. I've organized a demo day for Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Bretton Woods. I've organized this as part of the EICSL season kick-off event, and discount tickets will be offered to guests of EICSL clubs. The demo day will put on Sport Thoma. Adam Greenier of Gravity Jones Orthotics will also be participating in the demo day. Remember that I've put up a lift ticket giveaway for the event that closes at noon on Friday. So who will be there?
  7. My husband and 7-year-old will be at home on Saturday due to non-skiing obligations. That means I'll have the 4- and 9-year-old by myself. As you can imagine, the skiing level/speed/ability is vastly different between the 2. I was planning to spend the day at BW because at least there the 4-year-old can ski on all the trails, and I can let the 9-year-old lap us at his own pace, provided he can prove to me he can use the lift by himself (reach the bar to pull it down and have enough strength to lift it up). That way I'll be on the same trail as him (if something were to happen), but the lit
  8. View this giveaway Bretton Woods early season We have the season kick-off gathering and demo day at Bretton Woods on Saturday, December 9. Entries for the give-away will be accepted until noon on Friday, December 1. To be elligible for this giveaway, you must have a minimum of 10 posts. Submitter Weatherman
  9. There is a 3-day flash sale of early season tickets to Bretton Woods. $22 valid any day through December 15, 2017. This is a price increase from $20 last year. Typically they offer this special at the ski expo in Boston too.
