2019-2020 Season Passes

Recommended Posts

Also is an advertisement that is not obviously a stock photo from halfway around the work to much to ask for?
Hadn't really noticed it at first glance, but yeah that's really bad! They have plenty of thier own beautiful scenery to choose from.

The use of a picture that is not from Tenney (or anywhere else in the northeastern USA for that matter) for a Tenney season pass is really suspect, IMO. Kinda says to me that they aren't proud enough of their offering to show it in their sales pitch.

Hi,

I'm planning to buy Ikon passes this year for the first time.  Does anyone know (i) when the price increase typically happens, and (ii) if there are historically any additional discounts?  I saw from googling that there was a $200 costco discount last year but not sure if anyone has heard if anything may be in the works for this year.

Thanks

Prices go up April 24. The Ikon site has that info https://www.ikonpass.com/en/shop-passes.

Officially purchased EPIC passes for next season. Got to apply the $200 I spent on day passes towards the purchase price too.

I hope to visit Telluride and Crested Butte this week with epicpass.  Will report back here on how it goes.

Have been skiing great conditions at Snowbird over the last month.  Skied Deer Valley today with my Wasatch benefits from Bird pass.  There is still a TON of snow at Deer Valley, it must kill them to have to close next Sunday with snow like this at the base on Mar 31, 2019:

Are you allowed to skin up Deer Valley after they close?

I read in discussion elsewhere where mentioned no more Costco discount. IIRC the discount was applied to already increased price and present to hundred dollar discount price was going back to our original early April price so it was no any additional discount.

Already bought our peak passes but looking at ikon base, may have been a viable option to pair with ragged. Sunday river day trips in Oct and Nov, sugarloaf on vets weekend, sugarbush for april vacation, midweek snow days at loon, k in may and kids race program at ragged for roughly the same price as peaks plus k spring. Ikon also gives the option of steamboat during april vacation.

We will day trip Okemo and Sunapee. I have a timeshare that we will use for a week in January up at Stowe. It will likely be a one and done - getting Ikon or something else the following year depending on our experience

I saw a presentation by Vail Resorts last week. They were pleased to announce an Epic Day pass - 6 flexible days of skiing, $550.

Is the kick in the junk free, or an extra $75?

That's for the non-holiday version.  Unrestricted is $645 for 6 days.  🤢🤢

So an extra $90, then.

I was close!

I am in for Cannon next season. It was a hard decision between Cannon or Jay. But I need motivation to get more days in next year. I will drive 40 minutes when conditions are below par but I no longer have the motivation to drive 2 hours for less than ideal conditions.

This will actually be my first time as a Cannon season pass holder despite having well over 100 days skied at Cannon, more than any other area except Jay. I will supplement the season pass with a Mad Card and some vouchers to Jay and Smuggs through my ski club.

I'd love to meet up with the other Cannon regulars next season. I think I've only meet puckit from the regular Cannon crew.

Never understood Vail’s pricing! I can get the Epic Veterans Pass for $529. Also. You can get the Epic Local Pass for $110 more than the 6 flex pass. I am sure they set it up that way to get people to buy full passes.

We are getting confused - too many pass products to decide on. A Basin Veterans Pass is $199 which we will definitely get.

Liberty Pass for Veterans is $269 for Keystone. Epic Veterans Pass at $529 is pretty sweet too but no A Basin which for us is key to a long season and no partner resorts, just Vail owned.

Epic Local is $699. Which gives us a Japan trip option in Habuka, and lots of partner resorts.

Loveland Pass is $419 and gives us about 6-9 days at other resorts.

Current plan is A Basin and Loveland.

Breckinridge is opening late and keystone is opening early to replace A Basin on the epic pass. But I don’t think those mountains are as good of a setup for a long season.

We'll connect up next season for sure! (We did actually ski together once. It was opening day at wildcat about 4-5 years ago. You, me, deadheadskier, and bradJ took some laps together).

For next season I went with Cannon pass as usual. And also Ikon Base-pass. Ikon has already been worthwhile as we hit Squaw for 3 days last week.

Curious about the logistics of the squaw trip, havent been to Tahoe since my early 20s and things were very different then. Thinking about ikon base next year with the idea of taking the family west for April vacation week. Did you rent a car or take a shuttle. Hotel at squaw or in the casino at the state line? What airline did you fly? Last time my flight went through Chicago and Las Vegas on the way Reno, then through Phoenix on the return - obviously not possible with kids.

Highly recommend! We flew Delta to Reno (with stop in SLC). We had Delta miles so it was an easy decision and we did not look at other options. So can't tell you if that's necessarily the best or not. Rented a car because it was actually cheaper and more convenient than most of the shuttle options. It also gave us the freedom to go to the lake and Truckee in the evenings. We were there in May so the roads were fine. Mid-winter might require chains? There was some signage to that effect. We stayed in an Airbnb right in Squaw Village, walk to lifts. Pretty much all of it is exactly how I'd do it again.

Rent a car.  At least reserve an SUV for 4WD.  The bus schedule is too infrequent to be really useful for travelers.

Lots of VRBO/AirBnB options in Tahoe City if willing to get up early for decent parking at Squaw/Alpine.
